CPTED and Accessibility Assessment Report

Xyst assessed 39 operational facilities over a period of a week in Ashburton, Methven, Rakaia, Tinwald, Hinds and Mount Somers townships as well as in more rural and remote areas such as Mayfield, Lake Hood, inland including the Ashburton Lakes and the Rakaia, Hakatere and Rangitata River Mouths. The assessment was based on internationally recognised professional CPTED principles and minimum accessibility standards (NZS 4121:2001) with additional guidelines derived from the Auckland Design Manual – Accessible Toilet Design Checklist. The outcome are prioritised recommendations for improvements.

Project Benefit

Xyst undertook specialist CPTED and accessibility assessments on all public conveniences throughout the district to support the development of the next Activity Management Plan – informing both operational initiative and future capital budgeting.
